Szallas Group is merging its financial teams in Hungary/Croatia and Romania, thereby eliminating the independent HU/CRO CFO position, and the HU/CRO/RO CFO position will be filled by Norbert Szilveszter, CFO of Travelminit, based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, who will continue to work in close cooperation with Gerald Grace, Group CFO of Szallas.

Ákos Lapsánszky has been supporting the products of Szallas.hu Zrt. for 11 years in a wide variety of financial positions: he led the audit process with all Big 4 companies, he was an accountant, controller, finance manager, then from September 2022, he led the international Hungarian/Polish/Croatian operation as CFO, with a team of twenty people.

Norbert, welcome on board in your new position! Norbert is an economist with a degree in accounting and came to Travelminit in 2019, after spending several years at multinational companies.   • Responsible for overseeing the P&L of the B2B and B2C mobile applications in Hungary, Romania, Poland, and Czech Republic.
  • Collaborating with the development team to implement these projects.
  • Managing the entire life cycle of completed developments, including introduction, monitoring, performance evaluation, and identifying the need for new versions or necessary changes.
  • Engaging in consultations with both internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating projects within and beyond the organization. This includes preparing detailed specifications and documentation.
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of projects originating from other departments in the organization that impact the mobile applications.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a significant amount of professional experience in product management. 
  • Necessary to have previous experience in development projects and project management. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge in mobile application developments and have a solid understanding of mobile app trends and platforms. 
  • Proficiency in English at a negotiation level is required. 
  • The ability to think and work strategically and operationally simultaneously is highly desired.

A new era will start in Szallas Group’s life from 1 February, 2024. József Szigetvári, CEO of Szallas.hu Zrt will resign from his position and will stay with us to support Szallas Group as a strategic advisor. Rigó Ferenc, current Group management member from Cluj, will act as interim CEO until the new CEO is found.

With Józsi’s lead Szallas.hu Zrt has become a leading domestic OTA from a tiny Miskolc-based start-up and through foreign acquisitions we’ve become a CEE group working in 5 different countries with 500 people. Jointly with Szallas’s owner, Grupa Wirtualna Polska, we are already building our next growth path. Józsi will be there for us with all his expertise, while Ferenc, who also has a great history of building OTA from ground zero (Travelminit), will grant continuity.

Szallas Group CEO, József Szigetvári has been nominated for the most influential Hungarian digital professionals prize for the 12th time this year. He finished on the 6th place this time, thanks to his successful endeavors of making the Group a regional champion in the CEE region.

2023 was a very special year in the history of Szallas Group, since we became part of the Grupa Wirtualna Polska Holding, and Nocowanie.pl has joined Szallas.hu Zrt, Travelminit and Hotel.cz to build up the regional champion of the CEE region.

According to Józsi, the biggest accomplishments of Szallas Group might be the reason for his successful participation on the list:
– Szallas Group now works together with more than 500 colleagues in order to maintain and broaden the millions of satisfied guests.
– Szallas.hu application was refreshed with fully digitalized new experiences, program parts and discount coupons.
– This year so far we’ve conducted 50+ marketing campaigns and 60+ new releases, millions of received answered calls, and more than 10,000 new accommodation partners joined the Group.

Despite the difficulties and challenges of the macro situation, Szallas Group was able to increase its market share in every market, despite the fact that lots of people in the CEE region decided not to care about the sustainable tourism trend and chose air travel instead of domestic travel.
