The paper is based on a regional research conducted by Szallas Group and NielsenIQ in 2021 Q4, using questionnaire and focus interviews with >6000 travelers and >500 accommodation providers from Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland and Croatia. The study also uses publicly available data from Eurostat and from the CEE regional statistical offices. It also builds on the comprehensive accommodation reservation data of Szallas Group.
